VERA fans were seriously distracted by a Holby City star’s appearance as series 11 finally resumed on ITV.
The ITV drama has kept fans waiting a whole 12 months for the latest episodes of series 11.
The series was impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, with filming delayed before the first two episodes of the drama aired in August 2021.
The next two didn't air until January 2022 but Sunday night saw Brenda Blethyn finally return as the titular detective.
She was joined once again by Kenny Doughty, who plays her sidekick Aiden Healy.
The episode guest-starred former Holby City actor Hugh Quarshie, who played suspect Dr Palmer.

Hugh - who played Ric Griffin in the BBC medical drama - was the lover of another GP - Lucy Yo - whose body as found in the back of a burnt out car.
But as Vera and Aiden tried to figure out whether it was Lucy's husband or lover who had killed her, viewers were busy on Twitter commenting on Hugh's appearance.
One wrote: "So great to see our doctor from Holby."
Another added: "klaxon. Post Holby but still a doctor."

The two-hour episode ultimately revealed that Dr Palmer was covering for his wife and daughter.
