The remaining candidates were brought to London's Westend where they were shown an animated video.

Called 'Lord Sugar and Friends' they watched as iconic BBC shows were animated before the business tycoon explained the latest task.

They were given the challenge of creating a preschool animated cartoon.

After they created their cartoon they were told they would have to pitch it to industry experts.

However, fans at home were left laughing at their screens over the 'awful' characters that were created.

As one team decided to create a giraffe character, their opposition chose animated kids' characters.

Taking to social media, one fan said: "They look like my paint drawings when I was young."

Another said: "Did they hire the graphic artists from Lidl?"

"Jesus. The state on them….main thing is though they have faces?" said a third.

While a fourth posted: "I don’t think pixar have anything to worry about."

The end of tonight's episode saw antiques dealer and councillor Gregory Ebbs get the boot.

Firing him, Lord Sugar said: “Gregory by your own admission you struggled with the task.

“In business you need to adapt. It is with regret Gregory, that you’re fired”

Speaking after his exit, Gregory said: “I understand that Lord Sugar fired me because he felt I was unable to adapt.

“However, I am determined to prove Lord Sugar wrong and show him why I should have been his next business partner.”

The Apprentice is available on BBC iPlayer.
