LOVE Island's launch has become the most-watched show of the year on digital channels thanks to sizzling new host Maya Jama.
New seven day consolidated audience figures have revealed that 3.4million people have now streamed the launch episode, more than doubling the initial overnight terrestrial figure.
While down 1.4million on 2020’s Winter Love Island, the stat makes January 16’s episode the biggest digital channel audience so far this year.
For the 16-34 age group, it averaged 1.2m TV viewers - making it the biggest show for that audience since the World Cup.
And bosses reckon Instagram-friendly Maya is behind the online boost.
A TV source said: “Maya is proving to be the shot in the arm Love Island really needs right now.”

Fans have raved about Maya's debut on spin-off show Aftersun.
Maya - wearing a hot pink, cut out dress - welcomed a panel made up of Radio One Dj Jordan North, reality star Sam Thompson and ex Love Islander Indiyah Polack.
