Coronation Street legend lands huge new role on the BBC weeks after soap exit
HE last appeared on the Coronation Street cobbles just last year, but actor Jamie Kenna has already landed his next high-profile role on rival network, the BBC.
The actor has confirmed that he will be making his debut on the broadcaster's Silent Witness.
Jamie, who played Fiz's ex-husband Phill on the cobbles, revealed the news on Instagram as he shared a behind the scenes shot from his time filming on the long-running drama.
He told his fans that he would appear in both of this week's episodes airing on Monday and Tuesday night.
Alongside the selection of photos from his time on set, he wrote: "Catch this guy on Monday &Tuesday nights in @bbcsilentwitness."
In the snaps, Jamie could be seen dressed in a striped jumper as he sat with his arms folded.

Fans were left elated at the announcement of his latest project as they heaped praise on the actor in the comments.
One fan declared: "Get in!! 🙌🔥 Another amazing project, congratulations! 👏 This character is so handsome 😳 are we allowed to say that?!"
Another added: "Oh dear lord! Silent Witness is my absolute fav. I can’t wait now to see you pop up in it. Hope you’re good. X"

He was last seen on-screen when he appeared in Coronation Street as Phill Whittaker, who married Fiz following a whirlwind romance.
Whilst it appeared that Fiz had originally gotten over her broken heart following Tyrone's betrayal, it soon became clear that she still really wanted her ex more than Phill.
Fiz left Phill devastated when she told him that she did not plan to stay in the marriage just hours after they had tied the knot, leaving him heartbroken.
