EastEnders star James Bye teases epic Martin and Stacey reunion against all odds

She hasn't been going through the ordeal completely alone as Martin is also trying to support the young girl, showing somewhat of a united front with Stacey and the rest of the Slater family.
But in an exclusive interview with , James Bye hinted Stacey and Martin could grow close again.

Unfortunately for fans of the London-based program, it may not be in the way they were hoping.
"The great thing [executive producer] Chris [Clenshaw] does is he hints at stuff without giving too much away", the 38-year-old explained.
"For me as an actor, knowing some of the stuff coming in... There are some storylines with Stacey."
"Martin and Stacey get quite close. I won't tease in what way, romantically or not, but they've got a nice storyline coming up."

"Obviously, we know the baby's coming", he added.
While he's determined to keep the mystery alive, James did speak about how his character could be a great source of support for Lily.
"They dropped that storyline in and it's taken off - our Lillia Turner is just phenomenal", he said, in reference to the Lily Slater actress' performance as a preteen mother-to-be.
"What she's doing and what she's got coming up, she's just amazing. Getting to be a part of that is brilliant."

"Martin didn't deal with it very well, but he's one of those guys that once the dust settles, he just wants to be there to support his family."
As fans will remember, Martin was initially angry when he was told by social services that Lily was pregnant.
Social services and the police have led an investigation to determine whether Lily had been abused or not.
Stacey had insisted on keeping Lily's secret but Martin was eventually questioned about his relationship with the young girl.
He's also had great difficulty accepting Lily's decision to become a mother instead of getting an abortion.
Meanwhile, Stacey's love life remains at a stand still after Kheerat Panesar took the rap for the murder of Ranveer Gulati in late 2022.
The businessman told Stacey how much she meant to him as he was getting cuffed and taken away by the police to save his mother Suki from prison.
