Carol Kirkwood wows fans with ‘stunning’ holiday pics as she takes break from BBC Breakfast
BBC Breakfast host Carol Kirkwood has revealed the real reason for her show absence.
Viewers were left concerned after the weather presenter, 60, was "missing" from the live programme for the past few days.
Yet Carol - who is often praised for her style on-screen - has now shed light on her whereabouts.
She took to her Twitter page to post a series of stunning snaps showing a peaceful lake in Norway and the White Cliffs of Dover.
The meteorologist gushed in her caption: "So looking forward to this trip! Off in search of the Northern Lights in beautiful Norway. Can’t wait!!! White Cliffs of Dover looking resplendent ❤️❤️xxx."
Alongside a second set of images she posted: "Good morning! What a view to wake up to this morning ❤️❤️ @Hurtiagents

She then replied to a fan to brand the Norwegian coastline "simply stunning."
Talking of seeing the Northern Lights in full glory, she later promised her followers: "Will TOTALLY be sending pics (especially if I see them).
"Will definitely share x"
Meanwhile, Carol usually appears on BBC Breakfast to give viewers their daily weather updates - and is a firm fan favourite.

Instead, Matt Taylor took her place to present the numerous forecasts during the programme on both Monday and Tuesday - with no explanation given as to why Carol wasn't there.
Matt was welcomed onto the show by hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent as he informed viewers that there would be milder conditions.
Addressing Carol's absence, Matt told the presenters: "This morning I think Carol has run off with a bit of sunshine in her bag."
Many viewers, though, had noticed that their favourite weather reporter was absent.
At the time, one wrote: "Where is Carol? #BBCBreakfast"
Another posted: "I miss Carol this morning on BBC Breakfast, where has she gone?"
It came after Carol went missing from the show on Friday without explanation.
