GEORGE Clarke was left stunned after a guest built a shepherds hut at the age of 16 for less than £4k.
In the latest episode of Amazing Spaces, Eli, 16, from Cirencester, had the Channel 4 presenter in awe at his woodwork and craftsmanship.
The 16-year-old made it apparent that, in contrast to other youngsters his age, he spent more time building things than playing computer games.
The Cirencester-based carpenter and furniture maker said he hoped to move up from making simple furniture to building his first large structure.
Eli who hasn't finished high school yet, planned to construct a shepherd's hut from the ground up, complete with a kitchen, fireplace, and sofabed.
He went on to say that he wanted to create a concave roof for the mobile hut that will be kept on his family's farm because "straight roofs are boring."
The ambitious youngster achieved his goals at the end of the episode, and invited George in to look at the Shepherds hut he built.
George was speechless when he arrived and was especially impressed by the quality of his curtain pole's construction..
"As a curtain rail, you can't get more beautiful or more rustic than that," George inquired, eager to learn more.
He then asked Eli, what timber he had used, if he had used willow, in which he responded: "No, I think it's just a stick."

George burst into fits of laughter at Eli's response, and said: "It's a very lovely stick."
Eli spent roughly £3,700 on the build, which took him about five months to finish.
After that, he started college to further his knowledge in furniture-making.
"If I were your tutor, I would give you an A super-star for that," George told the young man in praise of his work.
George then joked with Eli, telling him that if he ever needed something built for him, to give him a shout.
