What happened to Faye Brookes’ character Kate Connor in Coronation Street?
CARLA Connor is one of Weatherfield's leading ladies but some viewers may remember her half-sister Kate.
The forgotten Coronation Street character was portrayed by Faye Brookes and was part of a trailblaizing storyline.
What happened to Kate Connor in Corrie?
Kate Connor was Johnny and Louisa Connor's second child, born six years after her brother Aidan's birth.
Prior to her first appearance in the ITV cobbles, Kate's mother Louisa died in tragic circumstances after finding out a deep and dark secret about her husband Johnny.
But Kate lived in blissful ignorance, which didn't stop her from putting all her cards on the table with her father when she realised she was a lesbian.
She soon fell for Caz Hammond, entering a long-term relationship with the soldier and, eventually, getting engaged.

Johnny was ready to give his daughter the wedding of her dreams but when his girlfriend cleaned him out, taking their villa and their savings, he was left almost penniless.
He turned up to the Underworld factory with Kate in October, 2015, searching for Aidan and some cash, later becoming exasperated when it was made clear to him he'd have to stay in Corrie until he had all the money he wanted.
Kate thus decided to get to work at the factory alongside her father, who was hired to run the business.
Unfortunately, her brother Aidan gave her a reality check - she would have to work her way up from the packing department, under Kirk Sutherland's supervision.

She obliged after some protesting but, to distract herself, she quickly decided to stir up some trouble by flirting with Kirk right in front of Beth Tinker.
This resulted in a fight although all was forgiven later on in the Rovers when Kate revealed she was only interested in women.
The newcomer soon befriended fellow lesbian Sophie Webster and the pair shared a kiss which was interrupted by Caz's arrival.
Kate threw Sophie under the bus in an attempt to save her relationship with Caz but trouble was still ahead for the pair.
As fans of the Manchester-based program may remember, Caz harboured an obsession for Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) as the hairdresser rejected her advances.
The former soldier played by Rhea Bailey was most notably insanely jealous of Kate's popularity in the cobbles, leading her to spiral and make up unforgivable lies.
Eventually, Kate had had enough of Caz and broke off their engagement before moving on to a brief relationship with Imogen Pascoe.
Meanwhile, Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) wreaked havoc within the Connor clan as he revealed to both Aidan and Kate that Johnny was Carla's biological father, despite the latter trying to cover his tracks for years.
Kate's biggest whirlwind of drama began in 2017, during her romance with Imogen, as her friend Rana Nazir (Bhavna Limbachia) developed strong feelings for her.
Despite her marriage to Zeedan Nazir (Qasim Akhtar) Rana confessed how she felt once Kate and Imogen called it quits, which led them to have an affair.
But the guilt was too hard to handle for Rana and she admitted to the infidelity several months later, prompting her family to pay Zeedan to stay married to her for a year - to which she agreed.
In May, 2018, Kate heard from Roy Cropper (David Neilson) that her brother Aidan committed suicide and she proclaimed she would never forgive him for it.
But her biggest heartbreak occurred after she finally became engaged to Rana.
In 2019, before they could get hitched, Rana was caught in a roof collapse at Underworld and died from her injuries.
Kate was plagued with bad memories from her life in Weatherfield and decided to leave to go travelling in the far East with Imogen, six months after Rana's death.
Her last appearance was aired on September 13, 2019.

After a successful first stint on our screens, she appeared in one instalment of the BBC One drama Our Zoo as Frankie.
In 2015, it was announced she'd be joining the Corrie line-up as Kate Connor and she was a series regular for four years.
During her stint in the cobbles, Faye was seen in game show The Chase as well as in the one-off documentary Coronation Street's DNA Secrets.
Faye quickly became a household name due to her character's ground-breaking storylines allowing her, in 2021, to be included in the cast of Dancing On Ice.
She was initially partnered up with Hamish Gaman but when he withdrew from the competition due to an injury during the sixth seek, Faye was re-partnered with Matt Evers and the pair finished second.
Following her first experience as a celebrity contestant in the dancing competition, Faye took part in quiz show Bridge of Lies, hosted by Ross Kemp - who also rose to prominence in soapland.
