Love Island star is ‘so sick’ and can’t leave her bed after cancer battle
Love Island star Demi Jones has revealed she's ‘so sick’ and can’t leave her bed after her cancer battle.
The 24-year-old, who shot to fame on the ITV2 show in 2020, celebrated being free of the disease in December 2021.
Demi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in May 2021.
The reality star updated her fans every step of the way, including when she went into hospital for surgery (a thyroidectomy).
Over the past seven days Demi has been struggling.
Sharing an update on her Instagram Story, Demi said: "I'm literally so sick rn. It's been a whole week and I've not improved, I've also got conjunctivitis so I can't film any content or post much.

"I'm basically a little hermit in bed until further notice.
"My immune system has defo been compromised since cancer, can any thyroid sufferers relate?"
What is thyroid cancer?
Thyroid cancer develops in your thyroid gland, which is located in your neck, and is usually noticed when a lump forms there.
The cells within the thyroid grow too quickly and create a lump.
There are four types which include: papillary carcinoma, follicular carcinoma, medullary thyroid carcinoma, anaplastic thyroid carcinoma.
Demi first noticed the lump back in 2019, but it was only after her stint on the winter series on Love Island the following year, that she decided to get it checked.
In April 2021 the beauty revealed that she had found a lump in her neck.

She later had to have surgery to remove a potentially cancerous lump that was the size of a gold-ball.
Demi was later told that she had cancer and underwent a second surgery to remove the disease.
The former style advisor proudly showed off her scar and celebrated the good news that the other side of her thyroid is cancer free.
And in December 2021 she received the news that she had been hoping for - that there was "not a single cancer cell left" in her body.
Demi told her 1.2million followers: "I'M CANCER FREE! I did it!
"I got my full body scan results back and there's not a single cancer cell left in my body.
"It’s been such a difficult year mentally and physically for me with my surgeries and treatment but I’m beyond grateful for everyone’s kindness and support over this past year.
"I will continue to be an advocate for cancer awareness and all my love and strength goes out to those who continue to fight this awful disease, here’s to a healthy and happy 2022."
Demi took part in Love Island three years ago, just before the coronavirus lockdown.
She entered as a bombshell on day 16 and caught the eye of Nas Majeed.
However, he soon fell for Eva Zapico, leaving Demi single.
The red-head beauty then coupled up with Luke Mabbott and they ended up placing third on the show.
Things didn't last long between the pair when they returned to the UK.
Luke is now engaged to Love Island 2019 star Lucie Dolan.
