It means Beyond Paradise - the Death in Paradise spin-off - will not air this week.

The show - which sees Kris Marshall reprise his role as DI Humphrey Goodman - usually airs at 8pm.

It isn't the only programme to make way for the bi-annual fundraiser tonight, as The One Show has also been replaced.

The news had first been announced on Beyond Paradise's official Twitter account.

The post read: "We won't be here next week - it's @comicrelief!

"But don't worry, #BeyondParadise will be back on BBC One on Friday 24th."

One fan replied: "Another great episode tonight. It will be a relief when it's back in two weeks and, hopefully, the BBC will commission more series."

Another added: "Sad not to see next offering. But will watch when available. Keep up the good work!"

A third asked: "Boo couldn't it go on the other side?!"

A fellow fan fumed: "Why does everything have to be moved not the whole of uk watch cr, put it on another channel."

This year's Red Nose Day includes a spoof of hit BBC show, The Traitors, while Kylie Minogue joins forces with the cast of Ghosts.

Blackadder character Baldrick returns for a one-man special and there will also be live music from Tom Grennan and Zara Larsson.

Comic Relief starts tonight at 7pm on BBC One.
