Her Countdown co-host Colin Murray spoke about how they made a list of ideal dictionary corner guests they wanted.
Colin revealed: "You might sense excitement here because Rachel... when we first started doing this together, the three amigos, we ruled up a little list, a secret list of dictionary corner guests we all agreed in we have to get.
"And we have one of those today, don't we? For all week the bard of Salford is here, John Cooper Clarke.
"So in honour of John Cooper Clarke being here, I wanted to honour him in the best way that I know, which is with the purest form of poetry, which we all know is the limerick."

Colin revealed he wrote a limerick about Rachel and asked if he could read it to her.
He said: "There was a maths women called Riley, who does numbers in consummate stylee.
"If they are large or small, she works out them all, and when she doesn't she loses her smiley."
Rachel didn't looked impressed and asked John to rate his poem, which took 45 seconds to write.
John answered: "100%" which the audience applauded.
Riley quipped: "Did you pay him a fiver for that?"
"It was set up in advance," Colin joked.
