Viewers were left disappointed after a technical failure prevented them from enjoying the first episode of the fifth series.

The fugitive reality show sees 10 celebrities go on the run for 14 days while an elite team of hunters try to locate where they are.

The series is in support of charity, Stand Up To Cancer, and the latest edition sees stars including Strictly’s Katya Jones, YouTuber Saffron Barker, Starstruck’s Nikesh Patel, podcasters Ed Gamble and James Acaster compete.

However, viewers were robbed of the chance to see the stars when a technical failure prevented them from watching the show.

Chaos ensued when the streaming app failed to work and fans were unable to stream the show.

They didn’t hide their disappointment, one write on Twitter; “Been looking forward to #CelebrityHunted but the All4 app isn’t working for Channel 4.”

Another said: “Trying to watch #CelebrityHunted live using the app and channel 4 isn’t there ! , Just E4 , More 4 , Film 4 and 4/7 … Anyone got the same issue ?”

Others replied saying: “Ours is the same! Gutted, was looking forward to watching it.”

They all found the same issue, one said: “@Channel4 why is the app not working??? I want to watch #CelebrityHunted but on my NOW and my Fire stick, every time I try and watch it, I get kicked out of the app.”

Another fan wrote: “Can anybody explain why I am unable to watch #CelebrityHunted on @Channel4 Please help!”

Selected episodes of Celebrity Hunted are available to steam on 4OD.
