Naked Attraction’s Anna Richardson reveals ectopic pregnancy battle in emotional new Channel 4 series

ANNA Richardson displays her ectopic pregnancy scar in new body-positive Channel 4 series Naked Education.

In the first of six episodes, Anna is “moved” after witnessing two women, Lauren and Libby, emotionally discuss the issues they’ve faced after giving birth, which leads the presenter to share her own experience and her scar.

In an exclusive interview with TV Mag, Anna, 52, said: “There’s a point in the show where I’m talking to two mums and I say: ‘Here’s my ectopic pregnancy scar from when I was 21, this is what mine looks like.’

“Now my stomach kind of hangs over the top of that scar and I’m quite conscious of it, but your relationship with yourself and your body is a journey and it changes over time.

“I’m 52, I haven’t had children, I’m going through the menopause and it’s a real struggle. You see your body change and it becomes more difficult to do things.

“You can’t fit into the clothes that you used to fit into or you see that you’re not as young as you used to be, it’s a constant challenge.

“It’s hard being a woman and as we get older it’s as difficult, I think, as it is for teenagers. Seeing social media and being constantly hit with images of perfection, this notion of youth and that everything has got to be about the next, young, amazing person coming up behind you.

“I don’t think we celebrate maturity, wisdom and age enough in this country at all.”

Naked Education sees the presenter joined by Yinka Bokinni and former Love Islander Dr Alex George as they focus on educating the nation and normalising all types of bodies through honest conversations and full frontal nudity.

Talking about the new series, Anna revealed: “I’d like viewers to have a laugh, a cry and at the end of the show to think: ‘Do you know what? How wonderful that these people came on this show and were prepared to share their experiences.’

“We’re lucky to have healthy, functioning bodies and in our own way we’re beautiful.”
