Her absence was never explained, but in a new post on Twitter, Naga's fans may now have a bit more of a clue, as she revealed she had finished filming the new series of Claimed and Shamed.

Posting a selfie holding a cup and beaming for the camera, the crew on the show could be seen behind her, also holding cups in a toast.

Naga captioned the shot: "And that's a wrap! Have loved filming this latest series of Claimed & Shamed.

"These fabulous people are fantastic fun to work with - I will miss them".

She finished her post with a broken heart emoji and added: "New series on @BBCOne soon."

Back in February, Naga revealed the latest series would be airing, but didn't add that she was in the midst of filming another.

Claimed and Shamed follows a number of insurance companies and police units in the UK and across the world that expose the most outrageous insurance cheats.

It shows real archive of insurance frauds caught out on camera or faking on the phone and telling the story of the investigation from the people who were there.

Naga has hosted the show since 2019, taking over from Ore Oduba.

Her post comes just days after she also paid tribute to a BBC Radio 5 Live co-star.

On Friday, she replied to a tweet from colleague Chris Latchem, who presents the sport on the station.

Alongside a screenshot of a farewell speech, Chris wrote: "Right guys, that's me. Thanks for having me on @bbc5live."

Naga replied: "Enjoy the lie-ins! You'll be missed my friend x."

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
