Website TVZone reports Blue Lights has been recommissioned

It follows three rookie police officers working with the PSNI in Belfast.

Website reports bosses at the Beeb have given the green light for production to begin on series two.

However, when approached a spokesperson for the BBC declined to comment.

The first series of Blue Lights is currently airing on Monday nights.

Fans were recently left frustrated after they noticed a string of continuity errors with the show.

Taking to social media, they blasted the BBC and producers for the mistakes.

Series one of Blue Lights was shot entirely in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Speaking about filming there, actor Nathan Braniff told the BBC: “I’ve lived in Belfast for most of my life and that was the main draw for me.

“First of all that a show like this was being made in Belfast.

“There have been other police dramas set in Northern Ireland but they haven’t focussed on what makes policing in Northern Ireland so different.”

Locations used included Dundonald’s Coopers Mill, and Bangor.

Blue Lights continues Mondays at 9pm on BBC One.
