Astonishing amount Sir David Attenborough rakes in every minute at age 96
WORKAHOLIC wildlife presenter Sir David Attenborough earned £3,342 a minute with his latest TV shows, accounts reveal.
The naturalist is raking it in at 96, having added Sky, Netflix and Apple TV projects to his BBC deal.
Figures suggest he pocketed more than £1.3million for the year to last September — when he paid over £261,000 tax.
Sir David had four shows on air over the 12 months — Attenborough and the Mammoth Graveyard, Dinosaurs: The Final Day, and Attenborough’s Wonder of Song for the BBC, plus Global Adventure for Sky.
That’s 389 minutes of TV.
During the accounting period, his David Attenborough (Productions) Ltd was also likely banking fees from early 2021 work.
This included narrating Apple TV and Netflix shows.
A TV insider said: “Sir David is very switched on when it comes to how he works.
“He’d spent over 60 years loyal to the Beeb before he looked to streaming channels.
“It means sharing his fervent environmental message further, and reaching younger generations, but also makes great business sense.”
