Today fans shocked after Jenna Bush Hager slams the ‘fake’ and ‘phony’ Kardashians on live TV
JENNA Bush Hager has shocked Today Show fans by calling the Kardashians "fake" and "phony."
The host participated in a segment on live TV that changed people's appearances.
On Friday's show, Jenna and her Today co-host Hoda Kotb welcomed pop culture expert Michelle Collins to the show.
They talked about the trends currently happening in pop culture.
After going through "short kings" of Hollywood and voice notes, they brought up the Yassification filter.
This app turns anyone into a glammed-up woman, to make them look almost like a cartoon character.

They went through some celebrities with the filter on to see if they could figure out who they were.
At the end, Michelle asked the Today hosts how they felt about the Yassification filter.
With hand on her chin, Hoda just kept repeating "No, no" and shaking her head.
"So fake and phony. Are we turning everyone into a Kardashian?" Jenna asked.
"Is that the point?"
One fan commented on the video, which was reposted to Twitter.
"Lmao Jenna 'it looks SO FAKE- are we turning everybody into a Kardashian?!'" they asked with a cringe-face emoji.
"Why are humans so hateful and jealous of other humans?" asked another.
The pics captured a supposed romantic scene created in the reality star's bathroom, including champagne bottles and various prepared meals plated across the tile floor.
One meal looked to be half eaten while perched on top of the toilet seat cover.
The others surrounded the bathtub, filled with pink, sudsy water, seemingly setting the mood for a date night.
Though it was just one photo of a slideshow of random snaps in the post, it caught viewers' eye the most - especially the Today hosts.
Jenna first raised alarm about the photo, admitting she wasn't a fan of Kourtney's setup.
"I don't like the idea of bringing food into the bathtub or anywhere close to that area," the TV personality shared.
"Guess what happens in there? The same thing that happens in my bathroom that's a lot smaller."
Hoda hysterically laughed at her co-host's confession while letting her continue.
"There are certain rooms called dining rooms, [and] kitchens, and they were named that way because the bathroom, one or two activities are supposed to happen there.
"Eating is not one of them," Jenna ranted while wagging her finger.
"But having a nice drink in the tub is okay," Hoda countered, but Jenna wasn't fond of that idea either.
"I don't really do that either. I'll have some tea, maybe. Yes. But eating food? Eating a burger?" Jenna clapped back.
Hoda then admitted that although she tried to defend Kourtney's bathroom choices, she wasn't on board.
"Look, I'm trying to play devil's advocate here, but I would never eat a burger in the bathroom," she said.
"Do you ever eat anything in the bathroom?" Jenna asked her co-host, who paused to ponder her response.
"You definitely have," Jenna guessed as the pair erupted in laughter.
TOO SPOILED?
Last June, Jenna took a swipe at Kourtney's younger sister, Kim.
She slammed the Hulu star for throwing her daughter, North, an "over the top" 9th birthday party.
Kim shared photos from the extravagant affair, which featured a private jet and luxurious glamping-style tents.
After seeing photos from the unique bash, host Jenna revealed her true feelings about it all during the broadcast of the Today show.
Sitting with guest Today co-host Michelle Buteau, who’s been filled in for Hoda while she was on vacation, Jenna blasted Kim for putting together such a lavish birthday party for her preteen.
“I have a 9-year-old, she did not have a party like this,” the 40-year-old said. “Because, y’all, this party was over the top!”
The hosts showed off some photos from the affair, and Jenna and Michelle told viewers that the Camp North sleepover party included a private jet, ropes courses, and mini tents.
Michelle said: “I mean, it is Pinterest-worthy, I’ll give you that.”
She added that while she appreciates the “inspiration,” the comedian would have to do a “low-budget version.”
“100 percent,” Jenna agreed.
Michelle called Kim’s whole birthday for North, “extravagant upon extravagant.”
nstead of wanting to spend so much money on their kids for their birthdays, the hosts said it’s more important to them that the children enjoy the small moments.
“Here’s a piece of advice my cousin gave me when I had my first,” Jenna shared.
“She said, ‘Do not even throw a party…Lower their expectations because if you go over-the-top at three, what do you think they’re gonna want at 16?’”
Michelle agreed and added of her own ways, saying, “I try to do little things that we can AFFORD,” and she reinforced this little jab at Kim by screaming the word with her hands around her mouth.
“Because if you don’t have money, I think that’s even more special,” she continued. “Coming up with your own traditions for holidays and birthdays.”
Jenna told Michelle and viewers that they shouldn’t look to what Kim and other celebrities do and feel bad about their own parties and gifts.
She said: “Don’t look at your social media feed and think that kids need expensive vacations or wild, over-the-top things.
“I love Kim Kardashian, so nothing against her, I’m just saying, little moments.

“Like roasting marshmallows outside or staring at the stars, walks with dogs, any of the little moments. They’re free!”
Michelle joked: “I can afford those moments!”
