A PLACE in the Sun’s Scarlette Douglas has injured herself AGAIN after ‘falling off crutches’ in a huge cast.

Earlier this week, the 36-year-old presenter explained to her fans she had picked up a "super painful" tear in her leg.

Scarlette had an MRI scan on her leg earlier this week

Scarlette shared footage of her having an MRI scan - which uses very powerful magnets and radio waves to produce detailed images of the body - and revealed she had picked up an injury during football training.

But taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, the star admitted she had caused herself a subsequent injury.

Against a black background, she wrote: "I just fell off my crutches and hurt my leg again...

"Today is going swimmingly well" alongside an upside down smiling face emoji.

The I'm A Celeb star then shared a snap of her surgical boot alongside a tub of massage cream and rolls of bandages.

She added: "Let the recovery commence."

Speaking about how she injured her leg in the first place, Scarlette said: "I felt my calf ping, like an elastic band."

After the MRI scan, Scarlette told fans: "Thank you everyone for your prayers, well wishes and good energy; I don’t need an operation!

"Luckily, what was initially speculated to be a partial Achilles tear is actually a grade 2b soleus tear. (Grade 3 being the worst.)

"The Soleus is the lower part of the calf muscle that attaches the main calf muscle to the Achilles.

"It’s super painful but with a lot of good physio, rest and the right exercises, I’ll be back in time for Soccer Aid!

"Remember, this is a minor setback for a major comeback, and trust me when I say no matter what, I will be fit enough to play at least do 5/10 minutes on that Old Trafford Pitch.
