Emmerdale star Jessie Elland’s horror as she’s confronted by fuming fans on night out
EMMERDALE star Jessie Elland has revealed her horror after fans confronted her for drinking on nights out – because they thought she was pregnant like her character.
Jessie plays the role of teenager Chloe Harris on the hit ITV soap, who recently welcomed Mackenzie Boyd’s baby after an ill-timed one night stand when he was on a break from Charity Dingle.
But despite Jessie playing a role and not being pregnant away from the soap, some Emmerdale viewers have confused her with her on-screen character.
The actress said: “If I had a pound for every time I’ve been on a night out and someone has said, ‘Hang on, you shouldn’t be drinking, aren’t you pregnant?’”
But Jessie continued to tell new! that fan reaction in general has been “lovely.”
She added: “It’s been lovely, the great thing about this love triangle dynamic is that there’s such a grey area, there’s no ‘he’s definitely in the wrong’ or ‘she’s definitely in the wrong.’

“It’s really cheesy to say but I do have to pinch myself every day. I’ve been like, ‘This is my job! What am I doing?’ I’ve been very lucky.”
In recent scenes, viewers were left in shock as Chloe’s waters broke and she ended up giving birth on Charity and Mack’s wedding day.
Initially, Jessie was only supposed to be in the soap for a short period of time, but “kept getting more and more.”
She explained: “Next I had a family, then I was in the village, then I was pregnant, so it really snowballed.”

She’s also got a sweet new companion on the show, in the form of her adorable on-screen son Reuben.
The actress described the tot as “so cute,” as she opened up on working with the baby.
