ESCAPE to the Chateau’s Dick and Angel have issued an urgent plea to their legions of fans after the last ever series of the show.

Taking to Instagram, the couple shared an important announcement with their 471,000 followers.

Fans were left devastated after it was revealed Channel 4's Escape to the Chateau was ending its impressive run after the ninth series.

The show, which began in 2016, has followed real life couple Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree, along with their family, as they renovate the 19th-century Château de la Motte-Husson in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France.

Juggling raising their two young children, while also starting a business hosting weddings and other events, earned them legions of loyal fans.

Sharing a photo of them beaming in front of their incredible home, they revealed they had been nominated for Best Business Show at the National Reality TV Awards.

Their followers were quick to comment underneath with words of encouragement.

One person wrote: "Rooting for you all the way from Sweden!"

"Well deserved, i see your show in the Netherlands, you are a inspiration for many people, beautiful family, always positif and happy, your two angels too. I hope you will win," [sic] added another fan.

The show, which started in 2016, followed the couple as they bought a dilapidated 19th-century French chateau and began restoring it.

Although the show was well-loved, the couple have decided to step away from the programme for the sake of their young children, Arthur and Dorothy.

They announced the news to fans in a newsletter update, with the headline reading: "The Ninth and Final Series of Escape to the Chateau.”

In the update, they explained: "We are delighted to announce our ninth series of Escape to the Chateau will be starting soon in the UK. 

“As soon as we have a date, you will be the first to know!”
