Gangs Of London star ‘will be next James Bond’ claim bookies after a rush of bets on the star
A GANGS Of London star could be set to become the next James Bond, claim bookies, after a sudden rush of bets on the actor.
Paapa Essiedu is now one of the favourites to replace Daniel Craig as Bond, in joint-third favourite position.
Paapa is an English actor who received Primetime Emmy and British Academy Television Award nominations for his performance in the miniseries I May Destroy You.
Bookies have seen a recent surge of support for the 32-year-old, drifting the prices of Henry Cavill and favourite Aaron Taylor-Johnson slightly.
A William Hill spokesperson said: “There’s been more interesting movement in the betting for the Next James Bond actor, with Paapa Essiedu shaking up the market and emerging as one of the frontrunners for the role.
“Essiedu wasn’t even an option over the likes of Piers Morgan and David Beckham (both 1000/1) at the start of this week, but after entering the market at 8/1 on Wednesday, he is now the joint-third favourite at 3/1 to replace Daniel Craig.

“That price puts him level with James Norton to be awarded the role, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson (11/8) and Henry Cavill (5/2) still leading the way.”
Other famous faces in the top ten bookies favourites include Tom Hardy at 9/1, Richard Madden at 8/1 and Rege-Jean Page at 7/1.
But recently, James Bond fans thought they were almost certain they knew who the next 007 was going to be.
In a deliberately awkward video, Stanley Tucci and Richard Madden silently raised two martini glasses before taking a sip.

The clip started with Stanley asking the person behind the camera: "Are we rolling?"
As Richard stared at the camera, Stanley asked him: "How's yours?" and he replied: "Delicious".
Both actors were trying very hard to keep a straight face before Stanley asked Richard: "Are you looking directly at the camera?"
"Join us next week when we'll have some dialogue," Richard said before the pair of them and the woman filming all burst out laughing.
"I don’t know what drinks look like, but if that’s Richard Madden drinking a Martini that’s been shaken, not stirred……imma hit the roof with excitement," one fan wrote on Stanley's Instagram post.
While some were delicate with their speculations, others went straight in and stated the obvious.
"Is that the new James Bond ?" one follower questioned.
"New Bond and Q?!" another speculated, while a third added: "Spies don’t smile, Richard."
