Linda Carter’s mum Elaine declares war on Nish Panesar in fiery EastEnders scenes

ELAINE Peacock made her way back to Albert Square when her daughter Linda Carter was looking to sell Mick's half of the Vic.

But after ruffling Nish Panesar's feathers, the returning EastEnders character wages war on him. Could she be putting herself in danger?

Linda Carter kept her true plans for The Vic a secret when Sharon Watts and Nish Panesar both showed an interest in the pub.

However, the landlady played by Kellie Bright was soon forced to reject both of their offers when her mother Elaine Peacock (portrayed by newcomer Harriet Thorpe) decided to buy Mick's half of the pub.

After causing a ruckus upon her return to Walford, Elaine was shocked to find the Vic had been broken into and vandalised.

Both her and Linda tried to figure out who could have taken such action - until Elaine spotted a glass flamingo previously gifted by Nish Panesar had been left on the bar.

Next week on BBC One, Elaine and Linda deal with the fallout of the break-in.

However, Linda is upset when Elaine seems unbothered by the ruined picture of the supposedly late Mick Carter.

Elaine focuses on business and becomes an instant success with the men of Walford as she entices them in with free drinks.

Linda, on the other hand, becomes irritated as her mother changes the normal running of The Vic.

Unbeknownst to her, Elaine has a culprit in mind for the break-in as she's convinced the Panesars are to be blamed.

After a conversation with Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) confirms Nish's (Navin Chowdhry) untrustworthy character, Elaine sets her sights on taking them down.

Perhaps fearing it could backfire on her secret lover Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Eve tries to persuade Elaine to drop her vendetta againt the Panesar clan, imploring that Linda doesn't need the extra stress.

With Eve's words in mind, Elaine has a heart-to-heart conversation with Linda about losing Mick and the pair both vow to support one another.

In later scenes, Elaine makes a phone call to a mystery man and shares her hopes that he'll move into The Vic.

Could this man be a needed ally for Elaine's vendetta against the Panesars?

Despite a line-up change, fans of the London-based program were over the moon when Elaine Peacock's return had been confirmed by soap bosses.

But Elaine won't be settling down in the Square alone as her new partner is due to join her in upcoming scenes of the program... with his two adult daughters in tow.

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
