The hit nature show will begin on May 29, coming live from RSPB Arne in Dorset.

RSPB comes alive at this time of year with rare breeding birds, specialised heathland insects and all six of the UK’s native species of reptiles.

Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan will report from the show's base, while Iolo Williams will be roaming Dorset.

In a show first, there will be more than 30 remote cameras – each hoping to capture the drama of spring as it unfolds.

The team will also be exploring Purbeck Heaths super National Nature Reserve and the Isle of Purbeck to discover the wildlife that has settled there.

They'll also be taking a road trip to discover what hidden gems North Wales and Anglesey has to offer.

Other faces appearing on the new series include Gillian Burke, the BBC's Frank Gardner, Megan McCubbin, Chantelle Lindsay and Nadeem Perera.

The programme will also feature a number of stories spanning across the UK and the natural world, including mammals, invertebrates, amphibians, fish, reptiles and birds.

Along with our animal friends, the Springwatch team will also showcase the work and dedication of the people working together to help the environment and wildlife across the UK.

And to top it off, the audiences’ favourite ‘Mindfulness Moments’ will also be back, with 90-second films of pure, uninterrupted nature, featuring the world of the red squirrels, tranquil carpets of English bluebells and the UK’s only aquatic songbird - the dipper.

Rosemary Edwards, Executive Producer of Springwatch said: “We are excited to bring this year’s Springwatch live from RSPB Arne, at the heart of Purbeck Heaths, home to an astonishing array of wildlife, from birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects and more.

"We hope that audiences will have a chance to learn something new about their favourite species, or even discover new ones. We hope that this year’s programmes will inspire more people to explore the beautiful and diverse nature we have in the UK, and encourage them to learn how they can make a difference too”.
