But now, in audio obtained exclusively by The Sun, Dr Ranj, 43, has opened up on the impact that the Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield controversy has had on his own mental health.

He told host Johnny Seifert on his The Secure the Insecure Podcast that the off-set fallout seemingly made him do some soul searching.

He explained: "I've had a bit of a wobble this week, where we're kind of thinking, hang on, do I fit in here?

"Does this align with my values? It feels like this isn't the kind of environment that I want to be a part of.

"And there's been a lot of negativity around various parts that we're all part of this process.

"Is this really a place for people like us where we're thinking, hang on, this is not okay, you know, what's going on and what we're hearing doesn't align with our values.

The BBC Morning Live personality also told the podcast host that he has faced an "identity crisis" as a result of all the goings on at ITV.

The former Strictly Come Dancing 2018 contestant explained: "And we've all had a bit of an identity crisis ... I certainly feel it this week.

"I certainly feel like oh, gosh, I don't know how I feel about this. These are people that I've worked with, these are people that I know, I don't know how I now fit in.

"But it's about having the confidence in yourself to say, Actually, I am who I am. And I'm strong enough to be who I am. And I'm confident enough to be who I am.

"And no matter what's going on around me, I have my core values. And I know what is right. And I know what is wrong.

"I'm just going to be me through all of this."
