Holly Willoughby told to ‘get a grip’ as Nadine Dorries launches furious rant against Phillip Schofield
HOLLY Willoughby has been told to "get a grip" by politician Nadine Dorries who admitted: "I don't feel a shred of pity for Phillip Schofield".
Phil, 61, announced on Saturday that he was stepping down from This Morning "with immediate effect".
It came after The Sun revealed that he and Holly Willoughby were "barely speaking" off camera.
Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were drafted in to host Monday's episode after Phil's shock exit from the ITV show.
Conservative MP Nadine, 66, has hit out at Phil for having "a track record of making enemies" and urged Holly, 42, to "admit the truth".
"Yesterday, stand-in presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary thanked Schofield for his service to the show and said they wished him 'all the best for the future'. Really?," Nadine wrote in her

"Why is it that men with power never have to face the full consequences of their actions?
"Why is Holly, a woman I have always admired, putting out a statement that 'the sofa won't feel the same' without him?
"Holly, get a grip. You should admit the truth: that you could not bear to fake it a day longer sitting next to Phillip."
Nadine continued: "Schofield has a track record of making enemies and upsetting people with whom he has worked, from Fern Britton to Ruth Langsford.

"Sorry, but I don't feel a shred of pity for him. In the end, as my grandmother used to say, it all comes out in the wash.
"I doubt we have heard the last of the Schofield saga, no matter how many times he attempts to clean up his image.
"What I am sure of, though, is that in due course we will know more about what was really going on — and why, after more than 20 years, Schofield left the show so suddenly."
The Sun revealed Phillip was told he had lost his job on This Morning just minutes after coming off air on Thursday.
He will get six months’ wages to soften the blow after ITV decided his feud with Holly was costing the network too many viewers.
A source said: “Phil has been given his This Morning wages for six months — but if that was meant to make him feel better, it’s just not working.
“Phil feels he has been shown zero respect and he is devastated by how this has played out.
“He thinks the way he was forced to step down was so unjust and he feels completely broken by how this situation has been handled.
“This Morning was Phil’s life and now he feels he has been knifed without proper consultation.
“Phil consulted his mum Pat and his ex-wife Stephanie before agreeing to step back. He is incredibly close to them both and wanted to gauge their thoughts.
“Phil also spoke with his daughters, Molly — who is a talent agent at his management company YMU — and Ruby.

“It was only after they’d had these discussions that Phil said he would agree to leave.
“Phil has dedicated over 20 years to that show and for it all to end this way has been incredibly upsetting for him.”
