Ex-This Morning staffer rejects Phillip Schofield’s ‘no toxicity’ statement insisting ‘he was shielded’

An Ex-This Morning staffer rejected Phillip Schofield's latest statement where he insisted there was no toxicity on the show.

The former ITV Daytime aide insisted that because Phillip, 61, was a presenter he was treated "completely differently," than the rest of the staff.

The insider claimed that as 'talent', Phillip was not as involved in the production process as other presenters from the roster of star names.

A source exclusively told The Sun: "When you’re talent, you’re treated completely differently from the crew and shielded from a lot that goes on behind the scenes.

"There’s only a few presenters who get get fully involved with production and check in with the team.

"Dermot and Rylan often checked in. Dermot has even done debriefs of half an hour / 45 minutes whilst checking in with the team."

The Sun has approached ITV for comment.

This comes after the axed star spoke out a day after TV's Dr Ranj sensationally claimed there is a 'toxic' culture of bullying at the ITV show.

Former This Morning host Eamonn Holmes also launched a fresh scathing attack on Schofield - blasting the star for "telling complete lies" about his affair with a teen colleague.

Today, Schofield described working on the show for 21 years as being part of a "family".

He penned on Instagram: "Now I no longer work on this morning I am free to say this.

"I hope you have noticed that it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me all the show who seem to have the loudest voice.

"This morning is the best show to work on with the best people. In all the years I worked there, there was no toxicity.

"You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like.

"But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew hundreds of presenters and contributors all now. It is a family of wonderful talented, kind hard-working people."

This comes as Dr Ranj previously took to Instagram on Sunday to tell fans he had thought “long and hard” about opening up on his experiences at This Morning, but was desperate to “clarify” what happened.

In the social media statement, Dr Ranj claimed that he “raised concerns” about Phillip and show producer Martin Frizell before being used “less and less” as a guest.

He said: "However, over time I grew increasingly worried about how things were behind-the-scenes and how people, including myself, were being treated.

“I didn’t know the truth about what was going on with Phillip, but I do know the issues with This Morning go far beyond him. It takes more than one person to create a culture.

"So I did what I thought was right and, as ITV confirmed last night, I raised my concerns about Martin’s behaviour (and the environment at TM) with Emma Gormley [managing director] especially given that my job is to look after people’s well being and I had been heavily involved in diversity, anti-bullying and mental health projects across the channel."
