Channel 4 reveal huge Naked Attraction update after axe rumours
CHANNEL 4 have revealed a huge update on the future on Naked Attraction amid reports the racy show has been axed.
The broadcaster issued a statement following speculation that filming for the Anna Richardson-fronted show has been suspended.
that the channel was having financial difficulties and had wielded the axe on four shows, including the flesh fest, in what those behind the scenes at the network were allegedly calling a “bloodbath“.
But the Channel has now broken its silence and insisted the nude extravaganza is not going anywhere.
“Naked Attraction has not been decommissioned and a new series will return to Channel 4 next year,” a spokesperson revealed.
The Sun understands that ten episodes are already in the can and will air in 2024.
The channel – which has also reportedly dropped the Danny Dyer-hosted Scared of the Dark, the planned reboot of Four Weddings and factual show Rescue: Extreme Medics – also denied that its in financial hot water.
The statement continued: “Channel 4 is in robust health – however like all commercial broadcasters we’re taking some precautionary measures – such as rephrasing some content and production – in response to a downturn in the ad-market.
“The vast majority of our shows have not been affected.”
Channel 4 did not deny, however, that Scared of the Dark has been axed, simply saying: “Scared of the Dark enjoyed a celebrated first season with excellent linear and streaming performance.”
As for Four Weddings, it appears it is being shopped around by a production company and may appear on another network or streaming service.
Last year, Channel 4 recorded its best revenue figures in history, topping £1billion for the first time.
The broadcaster was launched onto UK screens back in 1982.
