AJ Odudu's The Big Blow Out won't be back for a second series.

TZone report the hair-styling competition programme has become the latest casualty in the schedule.

AJ, 35, hosted the E4 show which saw 11 experienced hair stylists in a number of challenges.

The winner was chosen by renowned hairdressers Sam McKnight and Lisa Farral.

In a statement, a spokesperson said: "The Big Blow Out gave us many spectacular hair creations and we grew to love our passionate prodigies, but like all broadcasters we often have to make the difficult decision to stop making some programmes in order to make new ones."

It comes as Channel 4 culled a number of high profile shows as bosses seek to cut costs.

The Sun first reported how execs decided to axe the civilian version of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Five Dates A Week will also not be returning for a third series despite initial plans.

Other shows cancelled include Danny Dyer's Scared Of The Dark and Four Weddings.

Bosses were also forced to clarify that Anna Richardson's Naked Attraction was still very much part of the schedule.

A rep said: "Naked Attraction has not been decommissioned and a new series will return to Channel 4 next year.

"Scared of the Dark enjoyed a celebrated first season with excellent linear and streaming performance.

“Channel 4 is in robust health – however like all commercial broadcasters we’re taking some precautionary measures - such as rephrasing some content and production - in response to a downturn in the ad-market.

"The vast majority of our shows have not been affected."
