However, Rylan, 34, announced in April he was waltzing off the show after four years at the helm.

Now the BBC has unveiled former contestant Fleur East as his replacement.

Following the announcement, Janette has welcomed her new co-host to the show.

Taking to social media, she said how she was “so excited” to work with Fleur, 35.

X Factor star Fleur was revealed as the new host on Friday’s episode of The One Show.

Speaking about landing the gig, Fleur said: “I’m so nervous, it’s a lot to take in.

“I still can’t believe it in some ways. I was with my husband [when the call came in] we were away and I got a phone call from my agent and I thought ‘why am I getting a call now I’m away this is weird this is fishy’ and she started doing all the pleasantries and moments later she was like ‘you’ve got It Takes Two’.

“The funniest thing was the social video, I thought I needed to get the biggest boots I can find to not give any clue. And speaking of, with Rylan gone, I have some big boots to fill.”

The BBC have confirmed Janette and Fleur will host the first episode of It Takes Two together before fronting episodes on rotation.

Strictly Come Dancing returns in September on BBC One.

Janette replaced BBC Radio 2 DJ Zoe Ball who quit It Takes Two in 2021 after ten years at the helm.

Zoe, 52, was the sole host of the Strictly spin-off until Rylan joined her in 2019.
