Best Interests tells the tale of a family driven apart by having to make tough choices no parent should have to make.

 plays Nicci, a mother drawn into a legal battle over her daughter Marnie’s right to die.

The emotional series captures the lives of married couple Nicci and Andrew whose daughter named Marnie has a life-threatening condition.

However, it follows the story of a dispute between Marnie’s parents and the doctors who are caring for her, as the health professionals believe it is in the child’s “best interests” to be allowed to die.

Contrastingly, Nicci and Andrew disagree which leads to a legal battle as they struggle to understand the decision.

Fans have been left gripped by the BBC One show’s storyline and acting.

During Monday’s third instalment fans were left praising the dialogue between the actors.

Taking to social media, one said: “This is really superb acting.”

A second wrote: “Christ alive, that father-daughter scene was utterly superb.”

“That head to head scene between Martin Sheen & Alison Oliver was pretty intense with terrific acting from both actors,” said a third.

While a fourth commented: “Sharon Horgan, Michael Sheen and Alison Oliver are outstanding in this.”
