IN a shocking twist and turn Cindy Beale is back from the dead.
Cindy had "died" off-screen 25 years ago during childbirth whilst she was in jail for attempted murder.
Who is Cindy Beale in EastEnders?
Cindy Beale is played by Michelle Collins and first appeared on EastEnders in 1988.
She was dating barman Simon Wicks before she began her relationship with Ian and later married him in 1989.
However, the marriage soon hit trouble and she had a fling with Richard Cole who later claimed to be the father of her and Ian's twins, Lucy and Peter.
Cindy also had an affair with Simon’s half-brother David Wicks.

She was written off the show after she hired a hitman to kill Ian Beale and changing her mind but it was too late.
Ian was shot and injured causing Cindy to flee to Italy but she was arrested for attempted murder and was remanded in custody.
In November 1998, Ian was told Cindy had died during the birth of their daughter, Cindy Williams.
After she left EastEnders, Michelle appeared in Coronation Street as Stella Price from 2011-2014.

When is Cindy Beale returning to EastEnders?
Cindy made a brief return to EastEnders on June 21, 2023.
In the last few moments of the episode, viewers watched her lounging by a pool ignoring a call from George Knight.
It was revealed George's missing wife Rose wasn't in fact missing.
Instead she'd disappeared having never really existed.
When George discovered his ex wife wasn't who she said she was, he played the track Kiss From A Rose by Seal in a nod to her.
He then called "Rose's" number but it was Cindy's phone that rang, revealing she was alive.
Cindy will soon be heading back to Walford and will come face-to-face with her secret children who she shares with George.
In the up-coming episode Cindy will meet her son Peter, who takes a call from Ian demanding to get his Mum back from France.
However, whilst his back is turned, Cindy goes to Albert Square looking for Kathy.
Cindy, in an attempt not to be seen, tries to avoid people who knew her years ago.
After having no luck at the cafe, Cindy goes to No.45 to face the music, causing all hell to break loose between the women.
It's made worse when Ian arrives to try and get Cindy away who is stopped by George who has just exited The Vic.
Peter later makes a discovery as Ian's real intentions are revealed amid Cindy's return to Albert Square.
Ian is upset about something and hides away in the Launderette.
Peter goes to his dad's side and realises the reason he didn't want Cindy to return to Albert Square.
It is currently unknown what Ian's reason is and whether Peter will be shocked.
Despite this, he goes to the Queen Vic to celebrate Anna's birthday before Ian arrives looking for Cindy.
He bumps into Sharon and Phil who are shocked to see him.
It is unknown if Cindy Williams, daughter of Cindy Beale and Nick Holland will return to Albert Square as well.
The character moved to Germany with Liam Butcher.
