Why Garden Rescue fans never see Charlie Dimmock’s own home as star admits ‘it’s a disaster’ and plans major overhaul

GARDEN Rescue star Charlie Dimmock has opened up on the real reason viewers never get a peek into her own garden on the show.

Charlie, 56, is a gardening expert and has built a career off the back of advising people how best to organise their gardens.

But the presenter's own garden remains a mystery and is something she has never shared with her fans.

As Charlie opts out of using social media, she has never been able to share glimpses of the garden.

But according to her, it seems like that is for the better.

During an interview with the , the star confessed that her own garden was rarely in "tip-top condition".

Charlie told the publication: "Firstly I have to say my garden isn't always in tip-top condition!

"Unfortunately I tend to be away working at the more critical busy times (spring and summer) so I often get behind.

"With all gardens it's best to do maintenance frequently and regularly that way you actually make the maintenance easier."

The star continued: "For example, by tackling weeds often, they don't get the chance to set seed so, long term, you reduce their numbers making weeding easier and easier."

Admitting that it, truthfully, was a disaster, she said:  "I'm going to try and make my garden look good because I’ve been doing this so long, it looks like a disaster area! In the autumn, I’m tackling my garden.

"I might get one of the landscape team [from Garden Rescue] to do a bit of paving for me. I want the autumn to be dry and not too hot and not too cold so I can get on."

Despite this, fans did get the chance to imagine what plants Charlie would have when she recycled some of her own "sad and wilted" plants in a paying customer's garden on her popular BBC programme.

During the episode, Charlie succeeded in her designs being chosen by couple Adrian and Jenny in Pershore.

The pair handed over £5,000 to Charlie and her team in order for them to create a stunning new garden space.

But with the budget being stretched, Charlie opted to bring some of her own plants from her garden and re-plant them in Adrian and Jenny's garden.

The plants, however, were a far cry from the luxury and grandeur you might expect from such a gardening superstar.

Instead, Charlie opted to use her "sad and wilted" plant in the overhaul.
