Love Island’s most explosive Movie Nights – from Ofcom complaints to tears and tantrums
MOVIE night is the legendary Love Island challenge that can tear couples apart and divide the villa.
As this year’s islanders gather the popcorn for the return of the iconic event tonight, we take a look back at some of the most explosive fallouts from the films that have aired in series past.
Faye’s fiery outburst
Perhaps the most infamous movie night moment of all time came courtesy of breakout star Faye Winter.
When she ripped into boyfriend Teddy Soares, her outburst racked up a record 25,000 Ofcom complaints.
The drama unfolded after Teddy was shown flirting with bombshell Clarisse Juliettè.
“I am officially single. It would be wrong for me not to see what could happen,” Teddy said.
“There’s sexual attraction. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person who realises that in this conversation right now. I don’t trust you,” he added.
Naturally, hot-headed Faye hit the roof and swore more than 75 times in her rant.
‘I’m done with this conversation. If you wanna speak about my reaction based on your actions, you can f*k off. My reaction was only based on your f*king actions, so f*k off,” she screamed.
The blonde has since apologised for her outburst and expressed regret at how she handled it.
Liberty’s tears
Liberty Poole was left in tears when her man Jake Cornish‘s brutal comments about her were exposed in a telling clip.
Liberty watched in horror as Jake was shown discussing her appearance.
He was seen saying to the boys: “The biggest thing is the personality. Her personality is mint, I can’t fault it.”
He then continued: “There’s not that 100 per cent where I look at her and go… I haven’t got that girl there where I’m like, ‘F*ck I want to rip your clothes off.’ I don’t want to fake any s*it, you know what I mean?
“I wanna be here thinking, ‘I really do like her’ when really I’m lying to myself.”
Liberty then pulled Jake for a chat and broke down as she told him how much his comments had wounded her.
Luca lets rip
Luca Bish was known for his jealous ways when it came to Gemma Owen.
So it was no surprise that he was not happy to witness a flirty exchange between her and Billy Brown, who she knew from before entering the villa.
As he watched her banter with Billy in the clip, which saw the pair laughing in the kitchen together, Luca told the boys: “Trust me when I say, if she wants to f***ing play it down to me I will f***ing explode.”
Gemma refused to engage with the drama, remaining composed on the other table before telling Luca to “get over yourself”.
While the pair patched things up and left the villa as a couple, they have since split.
Indiyah isn’t impressed
If looks could kill, Indiyah Polack would have left Dami Hope six feet under after their Movie Night last summer.
Indiyah discovered naughty Dami’s Casa Amor antics when she watched him enjoy a three-way kiss Summer Botwe and Chyna Mills.
“Don’t worry I will deal with you later,” Indiyah said, stony-faced, as she shot her man a death stare.
“I’m seeing you in 4k doing up a three-way kiss. It’s just embarrassing,” she later fumed at him.
Fortunately for Dami, Indiyah was the forgiving type. The pair patched things up and are still going strong today.
By George, Ekin!
Davide Sanclimenti infamously branded Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu a “liar” for the second time in Love Island history when he watched her cosy up in bed at Casa Amor with George Tasker.
He looked horrified as the night vision clip played of the pair in bed together.
You’re a nightmare,” George was heard telling Ekin, while she complained she was “too hot” and got out of the bed.
Ekin then fuelled suspicion the next morning when she told George to keep schtum about what happened.
George was then show telling the boys that there was some “touching” under the covers.
He explained: “It was sort of like my hand there, her hand on there. Sort of having… a little play around.”
The footage proved too much for fiery Davide and his relationship with Ekin appeared to be on the rocks once more.
In the end, the couple sorted things out and won the competition, but earlier this month they sadly parted ways.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
