Mary Goskirk devastated as she’s forced to lie to the police in Emmerdale
AFTER healing from her broken heart with great difficulty, Mary Goskirk is thrown back into turmoil next week.
The Emmerdale favourite is devastated when she's forced to lie to the police after being blackmailed with intimate photos.
Faye Helders rocked up the ITV village and struck up a romance with Mary Goskirk (portrayed by Louise Jameson) who had just tiptoed out of the closet as a lesbian (before being flung out of it by her own daughter) after years of secrecy.
But in a devastating twist, Faye (Jane Gurnett) showed her true colours by telling Mary she'd been trying to scam her for money all along and she made a swift departure after a heated altercation.
The police became involved and finally caught up with the villain, ready to bring her to justice.
Unfortunately, in upcoming scenes of the Yorkshire-based drama, Faye tries to take advantage of Mary's vulnerability once again and takes things to a sickening level.
More Emmerdale
It all begins when Mary receives a message from an unknown number asking to meet.
She's thrown to see Faye looking dishevelled and, determined to remain steely in the face of her tormentor, Mary can't help but feel shocked to discover that her ex-lover has been sleeping in her car.
Faye takes things up a notch and tells Mary she loves her, begging her for a fresh start.
But a wise Mary doesn’t believe her lies and the conversation takes a turn when Faye attempts to blackmail her.

In possession of a private photo, Faye demands that Mary either change her witness statement or she’ll send a non-consensual nude photo of her to all her contacts.
The following day, things escalate further when Faye enters Smithy and reminds Mary that the clock’s ticking for her to withdraw her statement before she sends out the picture.
Later on, Mary's daughter Rhona (Zoe Henry) is in disbelief when she returns to Smithy and finds Faye smug and unruffled, telling Mary that they can meet tomorrow to confirm that she’s withdrawn her statement.
Rhona’s appalled that Faye’s blackmail could make her mother withdraw her statement but Mary is simply desperate to stop her intimate photo being sent out.
She grows increasingly distraught at the prospect as Rhona promises to fix the situation.
