CORONATION Street fans have been left stunned by Samia Longchambon's age as she celebrated her birthday.

The beloved actress has played the role of Maria Connor for a staggering 23 years now.

Samia has acted as a hairdresser on the cobbles but most recently is now an elected counsellor.

As the star celebrated her birthday, a Coronation Street fan page posted a snap of Samia as well wishes flooded in.

However, viewers have been stunned to discover Samia is actually 41 years of age.

One said: "I'm so shocked. Thought you were in your 30s."

A second wrote: "Happy birthday. Wow, 41? She'd pass for 31!"

"I'm 39 and look older than you," joked a third fan.

While a fourth commented: "Love Maria, [she has] been in it for almost as long as I have watched I think and she still looks like a teenager. Happy birthday Samia".

Samia previously wowed fans as she posed in a bikini while some time away in the sun with her husband Sylvain Longchambon and son Yves, 7.
