Although they no longer work with the broadcaster on the show, the pair haven't stopped sharing what their family is up to online, and their years of hard work and handy tips have not gone unnoticed.

Earlier this year it was announced the married couple and their two children Arthur and Dorothy have ceased working with Channel 4 and that their company Chateau-de-la-Motte Husson Limited was closing down.

One couple was so inspired by their hard work on the show and ability to transform a property from derelict to glam that they challenged themselves to create the Old Diary Cottage.

Dick and Angel stumbled across the cottage and couldn't help but share their idyllic find on their Instagram account, The Chateau TV, with the property's renovators declaring that it was Dick and Angel who "motivated" them to build their dream holiday home.

Fans of the Chateau loved the design, sharing comments like "So beautiful, love it" and "Love this bedsheet."

A lover of the show and avid buy of Chateau furnishings said: "I have so much of y'all's stuff, my husband has cut me off!"

Dick and Angel interviewed the home renovators Chris and Nicky for their , with the couple revealing that the Escape to the Chateau stars inspired them to take on the challenge.

They said: "Watching Dick and Angel tackle all the challenges in the Chateau gave us inspiration and motivation for our cottage.

"They also motivated us to turn a boring Peugeot Boxer van into a camper van which we are using to tour France for a few weeks in September. Their love and support for each other's dreams and ambitions is infectious."
