A Place in the Sun’s Jonnie Irwin stuns fans with incredible home makeover after major ‘gamble’
A PLACE in the Sun presenter Jonnie Irwin has swapped helping others find their dream home for building his own.
The Channel 4 star has shared some updates on his ongoing home renovation.
Jonnie was a fan favourite on the show and was one of the programme's original presenters alongside Jasmine Harman.
Over the last few years he has opened up about battling terminal lung cancer and how it has now spread to his brain since being diagnosed in 2020.
Still in high spirits, the star is using his time to build his own dream home.
He shared some images of his handiwork on Instagram, which got fellow A Place in the Sun hosts talking.

Jonnie posted two images of a corner room in his home, showcasing bi-folding glass doors and a gorgeous window, making almost half of the room see-through.
He captioned the post: "Phase 1 complete. Previously a cold virtually unused part of the house has been transformed whilst in keeping with the original 60's character. The main difference has been to punch through the south-facing wall and create an enormous view onto the garden via a bespoke @alunag_aluminiumsupplier window.
"This idea rightfully had its doubters, but I think the gamble has paid off. Replacement windows and sliding doors match the design and profiles which is key. The stove in the corner even makes this large room cosey in the cold weather so thanks to @northumberlandstoves for your advice on this. I'm really happy with the end result and even think Don Draper would approve! #madmenstyle #renovation."
Fellow Channel 4 host Ben Hillman was among the first to comment and said: "Looking very tasty Jonnie boy x."
