Shock Emmerdale exit as beloved character flees after 22 years
EMMERDALE aired a sudden exit as a character fled the village after living in the Dales for 22 years.
In a surprising twist, Gabby Thomas - played by Rosie Bentham - made a sudden exit from the village in Tuesday episode of the ITV soap.
Gabby decided to flee to Portugal, where her grandmother Diane Sugden moved after she left the village in 2021.
The young mother decided she needed to get away for a while, but did not specify how long for.
It is not a permanent exit as the actress has teased what is ahead when her character returns to Emmerdale.
She told : "She needs to reset. Heartbreak can be long and tedious but she knows that she needs to get it all out.

"The tears need to come. Hopefully she’ll come back with a different head on with regards to the Nicky situation."
"Gabby has a lot on her plate and the next few months are chaotic."
This comes after Gabby's growing attraction towards Billy Fletcher.
Gabby decided she needed to leave with her son in tow after she embarrassed herself after making a pass at Billy.

Gabby was left heartbroken on her wedding day earlier this year, when she was dumped by her fiancé Nicky Milligan who turned out to be gay.
Meanwhile, actress Rosie left the UK and jetted off on holiday with co-star Daisy Campbell.
She took to Instagram to share a snap on the plane as they head to Croatia.
Daisy is also currently embroiled in her own exit storyline as Amelia will leave the Yorkshire village with her dad, Dan Spencer.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
