Celebrity MasterChef viewers rip into ‘nonsensical’ judging as contestant ‘robbed’ of win – fuming ‘it’s destroying me!’
CELEBRITY MasterChef viewers have slammed the ‘nonsense judging’ in Thursday’s episode and claimed the star was ‘robbed’ of place.
Fans of the BBC cooking show were left devastated after radio presenter Remi Burgz was sent home by judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
Viewers were left fuming as they noticed mistakes from the other contestants and believe they should have gone home instead of Remi.
Comedian Shazia Mirza and broadcaster Terry Christian were challenged to make ravioli but fell short.
Meanwhile, Remi was paired with The Wanted singer Max George and was tasked with making stuffed squid.
John and Gregg were impressed by their communication skills.
The celebrities second challenge saw the them working in a Michelin-star kitchen.
Remi came out on top once again, after making no mistakes and keeping up with all the orders.
But it was the third challenge that marked Remi’s downfall.
The celebrities were tasked to create their own food truck dish, that was fast and easy to make, as well as delicious.
Remi opted for rice burgers with spicy chicken and although the judges were impressed with the flavours of her dish, they were let down by not being able to eat it and ending up in a mess.
This led to her being eliminated, leaving viewers disagreeing with the judges and fuming at the injustice.
Taking Twitter, one said: “Aw @RemiBurgz shouldn’t have gone! By far the best in the first two challenges.”
Another wrote: “One bad shaped burger and she’s gone? Meanwhile…Terry [is a] disaster. Come on #CelebrityMasterChef.”
A third penned: “Nonsense judging there, as per, on #MasterChef #celebritymasterchef #bbcmasterchef.”
A fourth added: “This series of #celebritymasterchef is destroying me. First Dani and now Remi. Gutted. They were both superstars.”
A fifth tweeted: “That was so unfair. Remi did much better #celebritymasterchef.”
A sixth commented: “Robbed Remi #celebritymasterchef.”
Before leaving the show, Remi said: “I’m sad to go, but I really really enjoyed this experience and I definitely enjoy cooking more.”
After getting her start at south London community radio station Reprezent, Remi went on to become the official DJ for Shaybo, the MOBO-nominated rapper.
She joined BBC Radio 1Xtra back in 2021 as the host of the channel’s weekend breakfast show, and her career has continued to go from strength to strength since then.
She’s hosted festivals like Parklife and Stormzy’s Merky Festival and appeared as a presenter on BBC Three’s Tonight With Target, interviewing acts like Ghetts and Jorja Smith backstage.
Celebrity Masterchef continues tomorrow from 9pm on BBC One.
