BBC News host Gareth Barlow suffers awkward live blunder just seconds into report as he scrambles to correct himself

BBC News star Gareth Barlow was forced to correct himself after he got his words in a jumble during a recent broadcast.

The 32 year old tripped over his words as he made an unfortunate error.

It resulted in fans being left in hysterics as Gareth himself poked fun at the situation when commenting on it online.

It all came as he began to welcome viewers into the headlines on the BBC when he accidentally said that he was watching the news as opposed to presenting it.

Gareth opened the show, saying: "Hello! I’m watching–."

Quickly realising his error, he 'asked' himself: "I’m watching BBC News? I’m Gareth Barlow."

He then corrected himself to say: "You’re watching BBC News."

Ever the professional, it did not deter Gareth from carrying on as he managed to brush over his mistake.

However, he was able to find the humour in the moment as he bore a smile as he reversed the awkward blunder.

Sharing the moment online, he then said to his fans: "Can someone please remind me who’s watching the news…"
