Coronation Street star sparks rumours she’s returning to soap in shock twist as she’s spotted at studios
ACTRESS Amy Robbins has sparked rumours that she is set to make a shock return to Corrie - six months after quitting.
Amy played Christina Boyd - the mum of Rovers Return pint-puller Daisy Midgeley - and was spotted leaving the soap’s Manchester based studios yesterday afternoon.
Soap insiders confirmed to The Sun that she IS returning - but just for one episode. "Amy's really popular in the cast so everyone was pleased to have her back.
"She'll be popping in and out of the soap occasionally."
Amy, who is the aunt of TV star Emily Atack, first strutted onto the Cobbles back in January to attend Daisy's wedding to Daniel Osbourne.
A soap insider said at the time: “Christine’s arrival will shake things up.

“It’s a great part and one Amy could not turn down.
“Being able to star in Coronation Street is a huge deal for any actor or actress in the industry.
“Though her character will initially only appear for a couple of months, there’s a good chance she may return as the mother-and-daughter story develops.”
Amy has also appeared in other big dramas including The Royal, Holby City and Casualty.

Emily’s mum Kate starred in Albert Square in August last year, playing the role of music agent Jen Glover, who took a shine to Billy Mitchell.
And Kate and Amy’s brother, comedian Ted Robbins, starred in another ITV favourite, Benidorm, having previously appeared on Channel 4 sitcom Phoenix Nights alongside Peter Kay.
It comes after The Sun revealed leading performers on Coronation Street, Emmerdale and EastEnders are all in the firing line as soaps embark on a huge cost-cutting drive.
ITV’s Corrie has been broadcast for 63 years and Emmerdale for 51.
