MAURA Higgins has landed her first major film role.
Insiders told The Sun the Love Island 2019 star had started work on a new movie, The Spin, in Belfast.
Maura’s move comes after she finished work on the American version of Love Island which she hosted for the first time this summer.
A source said: “Maura plays a character called Rose in The Spin.
“It’s a British film which follows two friends travelling through Ireland looking for old music records.
“The film is a comedy and Maura was the perfect fit for the role.

“She started work on The Spin over the weekend in Belfast and really impressed the producers.

“The film could open a lot of new doors for Maura and it’s a very exciting time.”
Maura, 32, made headlines this week after she was overheard having a row with Love Island 2021 star Faye Winter, 28, at the National Television Awards after party.

Shocked onlookers revealed the reality stars had an explosive exchange which lasted over an hour at London’s O2 Arena.
An onlooker said: “Faye approached Maura and started to have it out with her.
“Faye appeared to be accusing Maura of starting drama over what appeared to be something light-hearted and it ended up becoming a real scene.”
Maura was overheard shouting at Faye: “Starting on you? Don’t point your finger at me.”
A pal who tried to keep the pair apart was overheard begging them to stop rowing as people gathered around to see what was happening.
He was heard asking: “Girls, girls. Why are you fighting? This has been going on for an hour now. Stop it, stop it.”
After branding Faye a “cow,” Maura was overheard telling a pal: “She’s f*****g embarrassing.
“I went, ‘What do you mean by that?’.

“I went, ‘Don’t you ever do that to me you silly cow. Don’t you ever speak to me like that’.”
Maura was later seen trying to order a drink to calm down after the ruckus and was angry to be told it had closed, adding: “What the f**k, do we not get last orders?”
