EastEnders fans ‘figure out’ Christmas victim’s identity after former Walford resident’s comeback

EASTENDERS fans think they have 'figured out' the Christmas victim's identity after a former Walford resident's comeback.

The BBC soap teased a male character's death at Christmas in a flashforward scene earlier this year.

It featured six of the show's female characters; Stacey, Sharon, Linda, Kathy, Denise and Suki all looking down at the mystery victim on the floor of the Queen Vic.

Since then, EastEnders viewers have been desperately trying to figure out who the victim is.

Now, a number of fans have a new theory that the lifeless body will be Ryan Malloy.

Ryan - played by Neil McDermott - briefly returned to Albert Square earlier this year after daughter Lily Slater revealed she was pregnant at the age of just 12.

Ryan is the brother of Whitney Dean and ex of Stacey Slater, and while he didn't stay in Walford long after Lily refused to move away with him, some think he will be back in time to be the one killed at Christmas.

In a post on Reddit, one EastEnders fan shared their theory, writing: "I just re-watched the flash forward episode and something that stuck out to me is Stacey mentioning Ryan.

"She talks about how he wants Lily and the baby to go to his for Xmas, how he cut her child maintenance and she wants to kill him. I’m now starting to think it’s him.

"He’s a big enough character (unlike Theo or Keanu), but not a huge villain that’s super predictable (unlike Nish or Ravi).

"After re-watching it I do kind of understand the theories about it being Dean but I do find it odd he (or Shirley) hasn’t been mentioned since this episode in February. Ryan’s at least been mentioned throughout the year."

Another fan agreed, replying: "I was definitely thinking Ryan back when the storyline kicked off. On top of the things you said it was also mentioned when Ryan was last on-screen that his wife can't conceive a child but they really want one together."

A third added: "If it's Ryan, then I wonder if the baby-obsessed baron wife will appear in the Square for vengeance."

However, other fans of the BBC show are convinced the victim will be another returning character - Dean Wicks.

EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
