SAS: Who Dares Wins has lived up to its reputation as the toughest celeb show on TV - with one of its stars wanting out almost from the start.

A source has revealed that Hollyoaks star Kirsty-Leigh Porter was the first to bail during the famously tough process.

Viewers will have to watch the show - which returns to Channel 4 next week - to see what drove her to leave.

It means that 34-year-old actress Kirsty could be one of the earliest quitters in the history of the long-running series.

Things appeared to be too much for the soap siren to handle, an insider has claimed.

Kirsty was cast on the show in a bid to draw in younger viewers thanks to her appeal on youth-orientated soap Hollyoaks.

The Sun confirmed that she had agreed to take part in the show last year when filming took place.

A source said that she and The Wanted heartthrob Siva Kaneswaran were top signings by Channel 4 chiefs who were delighted to have them on board.

Speaking at the time, the source revealed: “Siva and Kirsty-Leigh are both sure-fire signings for the next instalment of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

“Kirsty-Leigh became a mum for the first time last year [2021] and is looking to really challenge herself away from Hollyoaks."

Kirsty is best known for playing Leela Lomax in the Channel 4 soap and joined the show 10 years ago.

Speaking about her time on the show before today's shock revelation, Kirsty said the experience was "absolutely brutal" but wanted to do it again.

Representatives for the show and Kirsty-Leigh have been contacted for comment by The Sun. SAS: Who Dares Wins denied she quit the show.

The actress is joined on the line-up by former Health Secretary Matt Hancock as well as Love Island stars Teddy Soares and Montana Brown, singer Michelle Heaton and footballer Jermaine Pennant.
