A surprise addition to the cast, he will join a number of faces from US TV as well as Love Island winner Ekin-Su.

The 60 year old will be hoping he can be victorious on the show which is filmed in the Scottish Highlands.

John faced criticism during his time in politics with an Independent Expert Panel previously finding evidence that John had been "widely unreliable and repeatedly dishonest" when providing evidence over claims he was a "serial bully".

He was in office between 2004 and 2019 where he spent a large amount of time watching over the daily proceedings of the House of Commons.

More on The Traitors

The US version of the hit show features a cast of entirely celebrities competing to bag an eye-watering $250,000 prize.

21 stars have agreed to battle it out on the second edition of the show with John being joined by TV legend Ekin-Su on the programme.

The Sun exclusively revealed earlier today that Ekin would be taking part in the show in a bid to kickstart her US TV career.

They are not the only famous faces to be heading to  for the programme.

Legendary boxer Deontay Wilder will be putting on his best game face in order to work his way through to the final.

Former Kardashian bestie and The Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa Pippen is also starring on the show after she touched down in the country yesterday to begin filming.

She could have an advantage on the show as she will be joined by her boyfriend, Marcus Jordan, a relationship that created headlines when the romance was first revealed.

The son of pro basketball player Micheal Jordan will be hoping he and his reality star girlfriend will be able to lift The Traitors trophy together.

Larsa herself is the ex-wife of basketball pro, Scottie Pippen.

Hosted by Alan Cumming, just like the UK version, the celebs for the US series will be split into Traitors and Faithfuls.

Other notable names revealed for the show set to air on Peacock are The Challenge legends Johnny Bananas and Chris 'CT' Tamburello, Bling Empire star Kevin Kreider and Maksim Chmerkovskiy from Dancing With The Stars.
