Toby Jones as DCS Dennis Hoban
Award-winning actor Toby Jones plays DCS Dennis Hoban, who initially led the Yorkshire Ripper enquiry.
The TV and movie star is best known for voicing Dobby in Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets and The Deathly Hallows – Part 1.
He has also had roles in Frost/Nixon, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Captain America and The Hunger Games.
Toby Jones also led the cast in BBC Two's feature-length drama Marvellous.

David Morrissey as DCS George Oldfield
DCS George Oldfiled is the third detective chief superintendent to head up the case looking for Peter Sutcliffe.
Away from The Long Shadow, actor David Morrissey is best known for playing The Governor in FX series The Walking Dead.
He is also praised for his role as Colonel Brandon in the TV adaption of Sense and Sensibility.
Lee Ingleby as DCS Jim Hobson
DCS Jim Hobson stepped in as the second detective chief superintendent trying to find the Yorkshire Ripper.

What is the plot of The London Shadow?
The Long Shadow is an ITV true-crime drama that takes viewers back to the 1970s and follows the police manhunt for the notorious Yorkshire serial killer, Peter Sutcliffe.
The series brings a new perspective to the horrifying case by focusing on the victims and the detectives working to try and bring Sutcliffe to justice.
ITV have said that The Long Shadow was "meticulously researched" and draws upon an extensive archive of the investigation, comprising of hundreds of case files, interview transcripts and police reports,.
The drama is also based on Wicked Beyond Belief, Michael Bilton’s critically acclaimed account of the case, published by William Collins.
Where was The Long Shadow filmed?
Filming took place in Yorkshire in June and July 2022.
Locations used included Wortley, Leeds, Dewsbury, and York.
Crews were also spotted at a home on Langford Lane in Burley-in-Wharfedale, near Ilkley.

The Long Shadow airs on Monday nights at 9pm on ITV.
