Coronation Street legend returns to discover family split apart
STU Carpenter has been going through a tough time as his granddaughter Eliza Woodrow went to live with her father Dom.
Thankfully, the Speed Daal chef is given a breather from all the drama as somebody close to him returns to Coronation Street.
Stu Carpenter (portrayed by Bill Fellows) had been taking care of his granddaughter Eliza as her mother Bridget remained in prison for murder.
But when her father Dom rocked up the ITV cobbles, the schoolgirl was eager to get to know him... and she eventually ran away to live with him.
The final twist in Stu and Eliza's story occurred as his partner Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) left Weatherfield for a holiday in Pakistan with her own grandchild, Zeedan, who wanted to spoil her for her birthday.
But the birthday treat comes to an end next week and Yasmeen returns home after several weeks away.

However, upon her return, Yasmeen is shocked when Stu reveals how Dom tried to demand cash in return for custody of Eliza (Savannah Kunyo) and she's brought up to speed about all the recent events.
Yasmeen assures Stu that once the novelty of living with her Dad has worn off, Eliza will be back and all they can do is wait and be there for her when the time comes.
But could she be wrong?
Eliza was recently the victim of a hit and run following an argument with Stu.

Next week, the identity of the driver responsible for her injuries seems to be on the verge of being exposed once and for all.
As drama continues to unfold for Yasmeen and Stu, Tyrone Dobbs, Abi and Kevin Webster are shocked when a police officer approaches them.

Tyrone (Alan Halsall) is then told they have reason to believe his car was involved in a hit and run and they want to examine the vehicle.
The mechanic then asks where his mother Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) was on September 11th as his car was used in a hit and run.
Cassie denies she had anything to do with it but it is clear Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) doesn’t believe her.
Is she lying?
