Jean Johansson reveals revolting truth behind A Place in the Sun outfits – and it’s all to trick viewers
JEAN Johansson has opened up about the grim truth behind her A Place in the Sun outfits.
The 41-year-old revealed she has to 'wear the same outfits for six days straight' while presenting the Channel 4 show.
A Place in the Sun's Jean Johansson has revealed the one trick viewers will never expect when it comes to the hit TV show, and it is all about the way they smell on set.
The Channel 4 property show has proved hugely popular over the years as house hunters are shown around beautiful villas and apartments in exquisite locations with beautiful weather, offering a taste of paradise.
The property expert opened up about what happens behind the scenes that show fans don't get to see, and it's not exactly glamorous.
Mum of one, Jean began her career in 1998 on and The Disney Channel, but since 2018 she has been a presenter on A Place in the Sun.

During an exclusive interview with At her house in Ayrshire, she unravelled the secrets behind the property series.
Jean joked: "If there was a thing called 'smell-o-vision', we would not be on air.
"Because we want each show to look like everything happens in one day, we all wear the same outfits for six days straight. So the big secret of the show is that we stink."
She also mentioned that viewers don't get to see how close she gets to the show's participants, with the crew and house hunters often spending a week to film an episode.

She explained: "We grow close during those five or six days, and we love a party.
"If you finish work at 5pm on a beach, there's no way you're heading back to your hotel room. We often go for dinner and a few drinks. I've made good friends over the years.
Jean continued: "There was one American couple in particular, Ryan and Steve, who were buying a place in Gran Canaria.
"They put in an offer on a property, so we went out for cocktails to celebrate. Let's just say the morning after wasn't fun, and watching it back was worse.
"My sister texted me to say, 'You don't look too good in that scene'."
As well as presenting the show, Jean has starred in Celebrity MasterChef and This Morning's competition segments.
She also won the coveted Celebrity Mastermind trophy in 2022, but achieving her career goals has been challenging.
Jean admitted that when she first tried to be a presenter on A Place in the Sun, she wasn't picked for the position.
She said: "When I first auditioned for the show, I didn't get it, and I was completely devastated.
"My agent at the time told me the opportunity would never come up again. Presenters never leave – look at Jasmine Harman, Laura Hamilton and Scarlette Douglas.
"But I just had a feeling that it would happen for me, and it did."
The TV star also disclosed that her favourite part of hosting the show is the "wonderful" house hunters.

Jean said: "I have so much respect for them – they go for it. A lot of us talk about moving abroad but never do it. But they do, and they tend to have amazing back stories too."
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 3pm.
