Line of Duty stars reunite years on from BBC hit in grisly new drama Coma hitting screens next year

SOME of the Line Of Duty cast has reunited for a new Channel 5 drama called, Coma which will hit screens next year.

The new four-part series will star two of the show's fan-favourites.

Filming has already begun, and Coma is set to air on Channel 5 in 2024.

Leading the cast is, Jason Watkins who fans will know as Tim Ifield in the fourth series of ITV's Line of Duty.

Watkins will play Simon, a dedicated family guy who loses his cool when his neighbourhood is terrorised by a gang of kids lead by a scary 17-year-old.

Joining Jason, is his Line of Duty co-star, Jonas Armstrong who will play the trouble 17-year-old's dangerous dad Paul.

Jonas is known for playing Joe Nash, a factory worker at Russett Carpets and a former resident of the Sands View Boys Home.

The official synopsis for Coma reads: “Simon, a devoted family man, finds himself at a breaking point as his neighbourhood falls victim to the terrorising antics of a group of teenagers, led by the menacing 17-year-old Jordan Franklin, played by rising star Joe Barber, and his questionable companions.

“Simon and his wife, Beth, played by Claire Skinner, are desperate to move their young daughter to a safer area away from the threatening atmosphere...

When Simon's frustration reaches its peak and he confronts Jordan outside his own home, a split-second decision changes everything.”

Jason expressed his excitement over his new role, revealing that his character will "face an agonising situation" that will keep viewers "questioning their own morals"

Jason said: “I cannot wait to get stuck into playing Simon in Coma, this character faces an agonising situation that will keep viewers questioning their own morals...

I’m sure it will be a thrilling and emotionally charged experience.”
