Emmerdale star Danny Miller teases legendary character’s return after campaigning for comeback behind the scenes
"It's just a case of if I can talk him round."
EMMERDALE’S Danny Miller has teased a legendary character’s return after campaigning for their comeback behind the scenes.
Danny, 32, recently returned to the ITV soap himself as Aaron Dingle.
Now, the actor has revealed he is working hard to get his character’s husband Robert Sugden to return too.
Robert is played by Ryan Hawley and the pair are known affectionately as Robron by devoted Emmerdale fans.
However, the couple were split up when Robert was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
Despite the circumstances of Robert’s departure from the Dales, Danny would love to see him return to the show.
He told TV Times: “I’m still great friends with Ryan Hawley. Adam Thomas [Adam Barton] is off doing his own thing, as is Kelvin Fletcher [Andy Sugden], but we’re all still very close.
“I think if I could pick one person, though, I’d love to work with Ryan again. It’s just a case of if I can talk him round.
“Every single day I get a video or message saying ‘Bring back Robron!'”
Some Emmerdale fans would hope Robert’s return would bring out the nicer side of Aaron’s character again, considering how angry and vile he’s been at times since his return.
Aaron was incredibly harsh to his father-figure Paddy Kirk in a recent episode, and some fans have shared their dislike for this current incarnation of the character on social media.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one Emmerdale fan complained: “Aaron is still the same selfish self-pitying indulgent juvenile self-centred idiot who always wants to make everything about himself. He is absolutely unbearable. Why on earth did they bring him back?”
Another added: “If this is the way Aaron is going to behave I want him gone he’s getting on my nerves!’
A third tweeted: “Why have they brought Aaron back being a complete tool!”
Emmerdale airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
